3rd Block Quilt - Trapazoid

Below is the second quilt that I did with this trapezoid pattern - this in with the St. Patrick's Day theme.

2nd Quilt Block - Donuts

The second quilt block we learned to make is called Donuts.

The quilt block on the left (below) is an Easter themed block that I did at home, following the instructions.

1st Quilt Block a Month

I love the block a month classes.  I can complete a block in class.  There's no homework.  AND... here's the big thing... by quilt block #3, I was actually reading and understanding the instructions and reading ahead to know what to do.  This is HUGE for me.  In the past, the instructions looked and read like Greek.  I felt like I was always going to be dependent upon the instructor telling me and showing me what to do.  Not any more.

Not only did I do the quilt block in the class, I went home and did the block again, but I'm going with a "holiday" theme for each block as I can purchase holiday material after the holiday at 50 percent off.  In the first picture, the "crazy stair" block on the right in blue is the one I did in class.

First Quilt Ever

Call me crazy!  I signed up for a quilt class... three classes to complete a quilt.... and I never took a beginner class.  I jumped both feet in and almost didn't complete the class.  It was overwhelming.  But I got bit by the quilting bug.  After making this quilt, I decided to sign up for the beginner quilt block a month classes and love them.

Could I do this quilt again?  No, I don't know how... But I'm thrilled that I made it!

Below are pictures during the process, but I'm not sure if it will help.
